About Department

The department was established in 1997 to give professional degree in Biochemistry aiming to give the education to able students in the range of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra. Biochemistry is a multi-disciplinary course and various programmes have been developed to meet the growing demand for trained manpower to carry out meaningful biochemistry activity in the country. The programme is designed to expose the students to recent exciting developments in the area of Biochemistry/Biomedical Enginerring/Biotechnology/Pharmacological Science /Forensic Science/ Nutrition/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics and their application in industry, agriculture and medicine.

(c) B.Sc. (Honors) degree in any of the following subjects with a minimum 50% marks. Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, Geology, Physics and Chemistry

Phytochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, Enzymes, Molecular Biology, Nanotechnology, Proteomics, Immunology, Environmental Biochemistry, Microbiology, Agricultural Biochemistry, Nutrition, Plant tissue culture.

  • Many students are scientists in reputed CSIR, ICMR and ICAR councils and institutes (JALMA, BARC, IARI, IIT-Roorkee, IIT-Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, DIPAS, INMAS, IISc. Banglore, AIIMS New Delhi).
  • Approximately 100 students have qualified CSIR-NET, ICMR-JRF, IARI-NET, GATE, INSPIRE Fellowship, Rajeev Gandhi National Fellowship, European Fellowship.
  • Many students are working in Multinational Companies.
